I’m Diego Sarmiento.
I founded Frontier Grid to examine the distance between an announced project and a system that can operate. My work brings together software engineering, research, and the physical and commercial dependencies that determine the outcome.
I’m a Venezuelan-American software engineer and founder based in Florida. My software background includes projects for Disney and UnitedHealthcare. I’ve lived and worked in Venezuela, Chile, Costa Rica, Canada, and the United States; that experience keeps local context in view behind every number and contract.

Every assessment starts with a specific decision.
Sign, fund, mobilize, reserve capacity, or wait. We establish who must decide, what is at stake, and by when; then follow the chain to the dependency that controls the outcome.
Permission and control
Licenses · approvals · contractual authority
Physical delivery
Grid · fuel · equipment · logistics
Capital and payment
Financing · procurement · payment path
The missing requirement that changes timing, cost, or viability.
Decision supported today · open questions · rule for reassessment
- 01
Freeze the question
A named asset or site, a decision, its owner, and a deadline. This gives the work an actual operating problem to resolve.
- 02
Build the evidence file
Official records, contracts, filings, and operating data retain their sources and dates. We separate confirmed facts, inference, conflicting claims, and what remains unknown.
- 03
Trace the dependencies
We map entities, rights, assets, and sequence: who can authorize, deliver, finance, receive payment, and operate. Where a number cannot be defended, we compare scenarios.
- 04
Challenge and revise the verdict
We look for evidence that could invalidate the reading. The result states what the current record supports and which document or milestone would change it.
Project Kilby: from physical possibility to a testable question.
A gas-backed generation plan for a West Texas compute campus was physically plausible. The public record had yet to demonstrate a firm gas delivery path — transportation rights, volume, pressure, and connection — aligned with the first phase. The brief classified the project INVESTIGATE and identified what would need to be verified next.
